Grok Bot gets email; permissions and cleanup need separate attention
Elon Musk relayed Grok Bot’s new email capability on October 9. The product account listed registering for services, contacting businesses and arranging appointments: actions beyond drafting a message.
The Bot terms, updated September 3, provide context. Customers configure permissions, approval requirements and spending limits, and use appropriate human review for actions such as external communications, financial transactions, deletion and legal commitments. Automated review is an aid, not a guarantee against unintended actions or a way to undo completed ones.
The terms say files, browser sessions, credentials and routines may persist in a cloud environment shared by Bots belonging to the same user. Deleting a Bot may leave shared data or access in place; those require separate cleanup.
These provisions describe the product’s terms, not evidence of a data leak. The email announcement did not specify all plan or pricing conditions, and we have not tested the reliability of its delegated actions.
