Dynamic workflows enter beta—with a token-cost caveat
Dynamic workflows for Claude Managed Agents entered public beta on October 9. A lead agent plans work, runs multiple agents in stages, and merges results. The announced multiagent_20261001 configuration supports orchestration of up to 1,000 agents per run.
In the vendor’s example, 70 bugs were planted in 116,000 lines of code. Three single-agent runs found 14, 15 and 27; three workflow runs each found 66. This is a specific vendor test, not a demonstrated result for every production project.
The announcement warns that workflows can consume many tokens and recommends starting with a bounded task. The 1,000-agent figure is a ceiling, not a recommended default or a promise of lower cost.
