Claude pauses startup offers; approval does not secure unclaimed benefits
On October 9, Claude said it was pausing the Claude Team and $1,000 API-credit offers in its startup program after demand exceeded expectations. Applications are being reviewed again, including some that had already been approved.
The distinction is whether the offer was claimed. Benefits already claimed will remain in the account, Claude said. Applicants who had applied or been approved but had not claimed the offer face another review; some previously approved accounts will not receive it. The announcement gives no date for resuming the offers.
Other benefits remain available to accepted members: Startup Stack and Applied AI office hours. Monthly API credits for Max or Team subscribers remain available in Console as usual; those should not be confused with the paused $1,000 startup offer.
This follows the October 7 expansion of the startup program and is presented as a follow-up. These are the company’s stated terms; individual account delivery has not been independently tested.
